Protecting Land, Culture, and Heritage
“By fighting for their lands, Indigenous peoples are fighting to save the planet. Although they comprise less than 5% of the world population, Indigenous peoples protect 80% of the Earth’s biodiversity in the forests, deserts, grasslands, and marine environments in which they have lived for centuries.”

“The survival of indigenous peoples is tied to the survival of their land. When their land is threatened, so is their future.”

History of Maasai
The Maasai people have a long and cherished history that spans centuries, with our roots tracing back to the 17th and late 18th century. Our connection to our ancestral land runs deep, shaping our identity and cultural traditions.
We have developed unique practices that allow us to coexist harmoniously with the environment, such as our semi-nomadic lifestyle characterized by sustainable grazing and rotational grazing techniques. These practices enable us to maintain the health of the land and ensure its sustainability for generations to come.
